Knepp Castle at Sunset

This is all that remains of the mediæval Knepp Castle near West Grinstead in Sussex. It was built in the 12th Century by William de Braose and had visits from a succession of monarchs including Henry III, Edward II and Richard II.
Over the centuries it has been abandoned and fallen into disrepair. Today, 900 years after its construction it is nothing more than a time capsule to the past.
