The Emerald City of Brighton & Hove was glistening in the autumn sunshine this afternoon; the last day of November.
Don’t let the blue skies fool you though: it was absolutely freezing out there … and what’s worse is the wind really messed up my hair!!
My sources told me about fifteen years ago that the name change was due to the rivalry between the two football clubs of Brighton & Hove Albion and south London’s Crystal Palace. The Victoria structure projects more than half a kilometre into the sea, and was opened to the public on 20th May 1899 — just 119 years ago. It’s practically brand new!!
